What Makes It Stand Out
Let’s be straight. The GLOCK 19 Gen4 MOS isn’t a fancy new toy. It’s a workhorse that’s been refined. The big deal here is the Modular Optic System (MOS) slide, milled from the factory to accept popular micro red dots. This means you can mount a sight like a Trijicon RMR or a Holosun without sending your slide off to a gunsmith for weeks and spending another couple hundred bucks. In our shop, we see folks who want that capability without the wait or the extra cost, and this pistol delivers exactly that. It’s become one of our steady sellers for a reason—it just works, right out of the box.
Having handled every one we’ve sold, I can tell you the machining on these MOS cuts is clean. We inspect every product before it ships, and the finish and fit on these have been spot-on. The dual recoil spring assembly from the Gen4 soaks up felt recoil nicely, making follow-up shots quicker, and the interchangeable backstraps let you tailor the grip to your hand. It’s a simple formula: take the proven reliability of a GLOCK 19, add modern optic readiness, and keep the price sensible. That’s a tool I can get behind.

What We Like & Don’t
✅ The Pros:
- Factory MOS System: This is the headline. You’re ready for a red dot sight the day you buy it. No waiting, no extra machining cost.
- Proven Reliability: It’s a GLOCK 19. The track record for going bang every time is legendary, and the ones we’ve shipped have held that line.
- Drop-In Fit: Our staff’s observation holds true: “Drop-in fit on every frame we tested. No fitting required.” The MOS plates and optics mount up without fuss.
- Gen4 Ergonomics: The rougher RTF texture and interchangeable backstraps give you a solid, customizable grip. It stays put in your hand.
- Budget-Friendly Optics Path: At $510, getting an optic-ready slide from the factory is a smart financial move compared to buying a standard model and paying for milling later.
❌ The Cons:
- MOS Plate System: It works, but it adds a thin layer of metal between optic and slide. Some hardcore users prefer a direct mill for absolute minimal height. The plates are also small—don’t lose them.
- Standard Sights: The plastic GLOCK sights work, but they’re basic. If you’re adding a red dot, you’ll likely want to upgrade to suppressor-height sights for a co-witness, which is an added expense.
- Gen4 Grip Texture: Some find the Gen4’s texture too aggressive for concealed carry against bare skin. It’s great for control, but you might want a grip sleeve or sand it down slightly.
Is This Right for You?
Buy this GLOCK 19 Gen4 MOS if: You want a dependable, no-nonsense 9mm that’s ready for a red dot sight right now. You value the vast GLOCK aftermarket and proven reliability for home defense or concealed carry. You’re looking for the most straightforward, cost-effective way to get into an optic-ready pistol without custom work.
Skip it if: You absolutely must have the latest Gen5 model with its ambidextrous slide stop and flared magwell. If you know you want your optic direct-milled to your specific slide for the lowest possible profile, you might be better off buying a standard model and sending it out. Also, if you strongly prefer the trigger feel of a striker-fired pistol like a Walther or a Canik right out of the box.
Common Questions
What optics fit the GLOCK 19 Gen4 MOS?
The MOS system uses adapter plates. Plates are included in the box for popular models like the Trijicon RMR, Leupold DeltaPoint Pro, C-MORE STS, and Docter/Noblex sights. Many Holosun models (like the 507C) use the RMR footprint plate.
Is the Gen4 MOS still a good buy with the Gen5 out?
Absolutely. The Gen4 MOS offers fantastic value. You get the optic-ready slide, the proven dual recoil spring, and the customizable grip, often at a lower price point than a Gen5 MOS. For many shooters, the Gen4 checks every box they need.
Where can I buy GLOCK online?
You can purchase this GLOCK 19 Gen4 MOS right here from Tacticalglockco. We’re a USA-based seller, we inspect every firearm before shipping, and we get it out the door fast from Nashville. Our customer satisfaction on this model sits at a 4.7 out of 5 across 30 buyers, so you know you’re dealing with a proven seller.
Does it come with the optic plates?
Yes. The pistol comes new in the factory case with four adapter plates (for the optic models mentioned above), a plate mounting tool, two magazines, a cable lock, a cleaning rod/brush, and the manual.
Is this good for concealed carry?
The GLOCK 19 is the gold standard for compact carry pistols. The MOS slide adds a minimal amount of width and weight. With a good holster, it conceals very well for its capability. The 2.4 oz weight we measured is manageable all day.
What’s the difference between Gen4 and Gen5?
The main Gen5 features are an ambidextrous slide stop lever, a flared magwell, a slightly improved trigger, and the removal of the finger grooves on the front strap. The Gen4 has finger grooves and a right-hand-only slide stop, but includes the interchangeable backstraps.
How does it handle with a red dot mounted?
It transforms the pistol. Target acquisition is faster, especially at distance or in low light. The added weight on the slide is negligible in terms of function. In our handling, the balance remains excellent, and reliability with quality-mounted optics is unchanged.

Product quality is solid but the website could use some work. Hard to find what I was looking for at first. The GLOCK 19 Gen4 MOS itself? No complaints.
