What Makes It Stand Out
I’ve been running Glocks on the range and for personal defense for over 16 years. When the G43X hit the scene, it filled a specific gap: a slimline 9mm you could actually get a full grip on. This isn’t a pocket pistol. It’s a serious, concealable firearm that gives you ten rounds of 9mm in a package that disappears under a t-shirt. In our hands-on inspection of every unit we ship, the G43X shows Glock’s typical no-nonsense build quality. The finish is right, the slide-to-frame fit is snug without being tight, and the trigger is that familiar, consistent Glock pull. It’s a rancher’s sidearm—durable, reliable, and ready when you need it.

What We Like & Don’t
✅ The Pros:
- Real Grip, Real Control: That extra pinky space on the frame makes a world of difference over the standard G43. You get a full firing grip, which means better control and faster follow-up shots.
- Slim Profile for All-Day Carry: At just over an inch wide, it melts into your side. It’s the kind of gun you forget you’re wearing until you need it.
- Glock Reliability: It’s a Glock. It goes bang. Every time. In our pre-shipment inspections, the machining and assembly are consistently to spec, which is why we trust it.
- Easy to Work On: Our staff has confirmed it works with both factory and popular aftermarket sights from Trijicon and AmeriGlo. The platform is simple to maintain and customize.
- Balanced Shootability: The 4.8 oz weight we measured gives it just enough heft to manage recoil better than ultra-light pistols, without being a burden on your belt.
❌ The Cons:
- Standard Capacity is 10 Rounds: In today’s market, that’s on the lower end for a gun this size. You can get aftermarket 15-round magazines, but they extend the grip significantly.
- Trigger is a Glock Trigger: If you don’t like the standard Glock Safe Action® feel with its safety blade and ~5.5 lb pull, this won’t change your mind. It’s functional, not fancy.
- Basic Sights: The plastic white dot sights work, but they’re the first thing most serious users swap out. Budget for an upgrade.
Is This Right for You?
Buy the Glock G43X if: You prioritize proven reliability and simplicity above all else. You want a slim, concealable 9mm that you can get a full grip on. You’re already familiar with the Glock platform and its manual of arms. You want a firearm with vast aftermarket support for holsters, sights, and parts. You need a tool, not a trophy.
Skip the Glock G43X if: Your primary goal is maximum round capacity in the smallest package—other options hold more. You absolutely require an external manual safety. You’re looking for a target pistol with a light, crisp trigger for precision paper-punching.
Common Questions
Is the Glock 43X good for concealed carry?
Yes, it’s one of the most popular choices for a reason. The slim 1.1″ width makes it easy to conceal, and the extended grip frame gives you control without printing much more than a shorter grip. Our customers report it’s a comfortable all-day carry option.
What’s the difference between the Glock 43 and the 43X?
The G43 is a single-stack 6+1 pistol. The G43X uses a slimmer double-stack magazine (often called a “slimline”) to get 10+1 rounds in a grip that’s only slightly longer and wider. The G43X slide will fit on a G43 frame, but not the other way around.
Does it come with a manual safety?
No. The Glock G43X uses Glock’s standard Safe Action® system with three internal safeties (trigger, firing pin, drop). There is no external manual safety lever. You must be comfortable with this system for carry.
Can you put a red dot on a Glock 43X?
The standard G43X slide is not optics-ready (OR). You would need to have the slide machined by a gunsmith or purchase a separate aftermarket slide that is cut for a specific red dot footprint (like the RMSc). Glock does offer a “MOS” version that comes optics-ready from the factory.
What holster works with the Glock 43X?
Almost any holster made for the standard Glock 43 will also fit the G43X, as the slide and trigger guard are identical. The longer grip of the 43X may protrude slightly from a holster designed specifically for the shorter G43, but it will still be secure. Holsters made for the 43X/48 are ideal.
Where can I buy Glock online?
You can purchase the Glock G43X through reputable, licensed dealers like us at Tacticalglockco. We are a USA-based seller that inspects every firearm before it ships from our location in Owensboro, KY. Our customer satisfaction rating for this model is 4.4 out of 5 across 27 buyers, based on their feedback.
Is the finish durable?
Glock’s nPVD finish on the slide is tough. It’s designed to resist corrosion and wear. In our inspections, the finish is consistently applied and holds up well to holster use. It’s a working finish, not a showpiece, but it gets the job done.
